I purchased two scratchers and they smell absolutely awful, like wildfire smoke and the smell doesn't seem to go away. The smell permeated my home and gave me a headache. Also, the scratchers slide around the second my cat starts scratching it. A similar-sized scratcher made by another company never moves on the same rug. Two stars for being chemical free and using formaldehyde-free vegan glue, but the smokey smell is a real deterrent. I will not be buying any more because of the smell.
