Every part of our catnip cat toys is 100% made in the USA – from the fabric and thread to the stuffing and label.
Finding American-made cotton was the biggest challenge. According to Bloomberg, there were approximately 900 cotton mills in the United States in the late 1800s. Today, only about 100 remain, with more closing each year. In 2023 alone, 8 mills shut down in just 5 months!
We are proud that our fabric and thread are made from American-grown cotton. Even our special stuffing – a blend of cotton, catnip, and crinkly hulls – comes from U.S. farms.
Using American-made materials costs more than foreign alternatives, but we believe it's worth it. After all, these catnip toys are made to be chewed, kicked, and loved by your cats!

Inspiration for Catnip Toys for Cats
My idea for Americat Company started in 2016 when I struggled to find made in the USA catnip cat toys for my own cats. I quickly learned how challenging it is to manufacture textiles in America. While I dreamed of the day we could make high-quality catnip toys at scale, I focused on the other cat essentials Americat Company is known for.
Now, after years of growth and experience, we have created catnip toys for cats! I couldn’t be prouder, and I can’t wait for your kitties to love these toys as much as mine do!
